Shipping & delivery

We ship American classics across the country and around the world every month. Every load goes on a licensed, insured carrier, and every car is photographed before it leaves the yard.

Prices are typical ranges for continental US delivery of a standard-size classic. Exact quotes depend on distance, access and timing — call +1 (313) 555-0197 for a firm figure.

  1. 01

    Agreement and deposit

We confirm the sale in writing, agree the shipping method and collect a deposit. Nothing is booked until the paperwork is signed.

  2. 02

    Payment cleared in full

The balance clears our account before a carrier is dispatched. Bank wire is preferred; certified funds are accepted.

  3. 03

    Car prepared and photographed

The car is washed, fuelled to a quarter tank, battery tended, and photographed at every corner on the day of collection. Those photographs are emailed to you.

  4. 04

    Collection and transit

The carrier inspects and signs for the car. You receive the driver name, carrier MC number, insurance certificate and an estimated delivery window.

  5. 05

    Delivery and inspection

Walk the car with the driver before signing the bill of lading. Note anything at all on the delivery receipt — that is what the carrier insurance responds to.

  6. 06

    Titles and documents

The signed title, bill of sale and any history file travel by insured courier, separately from the car, within three business days of cleared payment.

Worldwide

Export and international delivery

Illustration of a shipping container beside a globe with an export route

Roughly a third of the cars we sell leave the country. We work with export agents in Detroit, Newark and Savannah to load cars into shared or sole-use containers, and we prepare the documentation the receiving port will ask for: title, bill of sale, export declaration and a photographic condition report.

Buyers are responsible for import duty, VAT or GST, customs clearance and local registration in the destination country. We will tell you plainly what the car will need before you commit, and we will not ship to a port we cannot document properly.

  • Export declaration and certificate of origin
  • Container loading photographed and logged
  • Title and bill of sale couriered to the buyer
  • Named contact at the shop until the car lands
How long does delivery take?

Typically three to seven business days within the continental United States. Expedited delivery is usually two to four days. Alaska, Hawaii and international destinations take longer and are quoted individually.

Who is responsible for the car during transit?

The carrier, under its own cargo insurance, from the moment it signs for the car until you sign the delivery receipt. We coordinate the claim if anything goes wrong, but the carrier is the responsible party once the car is on the trailer.

Can I collect the car in person?

Yes, and we encourage it. Come to the shop, inspect the car at your leisure, and drive it home. We will have the paperwork ready and the tank filled.

Do you ship outside the United States?

We do. We work with export agents for Europe, the UK, the Gulf and Australia, and can handle container loading and export documentation. Import duties and local registration are the buyer’s responsibility.

What if the car is not as described?

It will be, and you will have seen dozens of photographs before it shipped. If a material discrepancy exists, contact us before you sign the delivery receipt and we will resolve it.
